Kaohsiung marked the park on 21 September. Reuters attaches two TSMC buildings and a Q4 2029 start that the city note does not repeat.

ASML and TSMC say the shift from conventional 6-inch photomasks to 12-inch masks is meant to remove stitching limits in High-NA EUV, with a pilot line targeted for 2031 and full system readiness for 2033.

The assembler’s NT$921.8 billion month points to pressure on the AI build chain. The consumer-electronics ramp also contributes to the total.

Taiwan’s legislature moved drone procurement into six annual general-budget rounds and wrote industry rules around domestic production, trusted supply chains and testing. The Cabinet’s NT$210 billion special-budget bill died the same day.

Taiwan says overseas hackers paired conventional operations with AI agents in July. The disclosed chain shows autonomy scaling work after credentials and weak authentication opened ordinary government access.

Beijing announced two days of shooting in the Taiwan Strait. The published geometry describes a bounded coastal drill, while the notice and timing preserve its coercive signal.

A record quarter arrived with another vast commitment to U.S. manufacturing. The investment points to durable demand for advanced computing while leaving timing and utilization contingent on future markets.

Bavi forced mass evacuations along eastern China, shut down much of Taiwan, and battered Japan's southern islands as it tracked toward the Zhejiang coast. The same storm idled the island that makes most of the world's advanced chips.

Beijing's coast-guard patrol east of Taiwan entered its second month on 4 July when the Xiushan task group replaced Daishan. Taipei tracked two cutters 54 nautical miles off Hualien and hardened its institutional response, while Washington has not objected since a 24 June cable-protection statement.

A coast-guard sail off Hualien shifts grey-zone pressure to the island's open-ocean flank, where Taiwan keeps fallback military depth. Beijing frames the move as routine law enforcement; Taipei says Beijing holds no authority in those waters.

At the Communist Party’s 105th anniversary in Beijing, Xi Jinping called complete reunification with Taiwan an unshakable commitment. Analysts read it as familiar rhetoric at a set-piece, with no new operational move signalled, as gray-zone maritime pressure and cross-strait decoupling continue.

Chinese activity east of Taiwan turns the island’s under-watched flank into a security, shipping and compute-supply problem.
