Kim Jong Un oversaw the launch of an intermediate-range strategic missile [E1] on Saturday [E3][E5], state media reported Sunday [E4]. His daughter attended the launch [E4].

The Korean Central News Agency said the missile, launched toward the northeast, hit a target 1,000 km away from the East Sea [E2]. South Korea’s military detected a ballistic missile from the Wonsan area toward the East Sea that flew more than 700 km [E3][E5].

State media said the missile used artificial intelligence to adjust its trajectory [E4].
